Thomas Edison - LIVING HISTORY!!

Every year the fifth grade class presents an evening of Living History.  The students line the halls of the school and post photos or props on the walls behind them.  Alek chose to portray Thomas Alva Edison.  He researched Edison and wrote his speech.  He the performed it for fellow students that morning and for the open house that evening. I think he did an amazing job!  His teacher agrees as he got a 100 for it!  I'm not sure if the video shows his props, but they were a light bulb and a battery.

Colorado 2012

These are posted in no particular order because I'm lazy.  We had an amazing time.  Geoff and Shera made the trip so much fun!!! I highly recommend them as traveling partners.  We had a great little condo, a great little hot tub, Alco was around the corner, and it snowed A LOT!!!!!  Oh, Pagosa Springs.... we'll be back!

This is how you watch the Grammys on vacation!
This is how you ski Wolf Creek!
 Snowmen rock.

Super Shopper

Yesterday, Walter handled the cart, got all the items on our list, put them on the conveyor himself, loaded the bags into the cart and then loaded them into the car all on his own. Big. Man.

Sewing homework

Strings and Sewing

In January we've gotten to see two of the newer family artistic talents bloom. Alek had his first Strings concert. They call it a Cluster Concert, and it included all of the elementary school strings groups, the two closest feeder middle school orchestras, and one of the high school orchestras! It was huge! Look for Alek - he's in the center about three kids back. Ha.

(Video not cooperating.  Come back soon.)

Then Nora began sewing lessons using the new sewing machine that Santa brought her!  She was very serious, but enjoyed it very much!  By the end of the weekend, she should be able to model her new skirt!!
