Granny and Granpa treated us to the butterfly exhibit in Ft. Worth! It was a great place for me to play with my new camera...
and to observe things so weird we couldn't decide what it was - and only Granny was brave enough to touch it (it is some sort of pod from a tree).
Look how big it is! This is a docent's hand.
Some of us observed with quiet fascination.
Some of us got to host a butterfly for a moment!
And some of us freaked out and exhibited an apparent butterfly phobia (lepidopteraphobia?). At one point screaming, "I don't want one of those things to touch me!"
Off to greener pastures and an outdoor garden - one where young girls grow beards...
and one where Granpda's buy koi food!
This is one of those timeless kid activities. Who doesn't like feeding these guys? Luckily, no koi phobias presented themselves.
It was a lovely time of year for visiting the garden - so much in bloom!
We finished the day with a picnic!
And with a prehistoric battle to the death!
Well, we interrupted it and they both lived to fight another day.
